Shadows and shapes and things not as they should be. Since so much of photography is already quite abstract (people in black & white, points of view compressed or expanded, photos of a fly's eyeballs, these aren't how we see the world), it can be difficult to assign the title "Abstract" sometimes. But these shadowy, shapey, not-as-they-should-be objects and scenes are what I view as abstract in my own work.
